I usually like these sorts of articles, because they dish out the hard truths regarding specific consoles shortcomings. This article though just didn't do it for me. Whilst some of the points are reputable (sorry PS3 fanboys), it is considerably short sighted and generally outright naive in its assertions...dump blu-ray?...I hope he is kidding? Agreed. Unfortunately the late Y and early Z generations have been brought up on instant gratification and an obvious sense of entitlement, they need these scores to justifying the 'their' purchases (when I say 'their, I mean their mummies and daddies purchases).
If we are going to continue to use arbitrary scoring systems (which we no doubt will), we need to stop giving out top scores to every second game...
Bottom line is, on a full 10 point scoring system, an 8 is a good score. I'm sick of every site giving out 9's and 10's like candy, these should only be given to games that clearly stand out above the rest. Killzone 2 give it a 7.5, ODST maybe a 7, Uncharted 1 pushing 8, MGS 4 7.8, Fallout 3 8.3... (these were used as an example).
If we used a 10 point scoring system (instead of the 7-10 sh*t everyone currently uses) then we wouldn't have you people bi*ching every time your perf...
Yeah still not sure about the mulitplayer aspect, I personally don't like the trend that every game NEEDS a muliplayer mode, I guess it pleases the kids who have no interest in decent single player experiences.
These are the types of mature experience adult gamers have been praying for, do you guys have to turn it into smutty thing. If you're going to act like horny teens every time you see a pair of breasts, I don't think this game is for you.
